Airedales will make every effort to adapt their lifestyle to match that of their master's. Versatility is perhaps their most intriguing characteristic. Trudy and Clara belong to nerds, so they are trying to fit in.

As Teddy Roosevelt said, "An Airedale can do anything the other dog does..." He was telling the truth. An Airedale is the utility infielder of the dog world. |

Airedales can do anything that other dogs do. They are confident, strong, intelligent and loyal. Airedales are used for big game hunting, retrieving water fowl, and as police and protection dogs. There are Airedales seen in obedience, agility, and flyball competition. Airedales also have a keen sense of smell and can excel in tracking, search and rescue. Airedales are also great family dogs. They seem to enjoy children and instinctively know to be gentle with the little ones. Trudy and Clara once played a game of "tag" with an 18 month old girl, and never even knocked her down. There are dog breeds that excel in one thing. A Bloodhound may be a better tracker than an Airedale. A Border Collie is certainly a better shepherd, but there is no dog that excels at more things, than an Airedale. | ||
