You probably know me.  I am Rita.  They tell me I am an Airedale.  That may be, but I'm not just an Airedale. I'm the biggest, toughest, smartest, loveliest and best Airedale in the whole world.  No brag, just fact.

Here I am as a child.  Notice that I didn't say "puppy".  I was never a puppy.  Puppies are young dogs.  I am NOT a dog.

I forgot to  mention that I am also the fastest Airedale in the world.  All Squirrels and Frisbees fear me.

All the horses in the neighborhood like me.  They all know that I won't bite them as long as they show me the proper respect.  They also know that my Mom and I bring carrots when we go for walks.

I am the world champion stick retriever.  I will fetch as many sticks as I can fit in my mouth.  If my mouth is full and there is another stick, I'll push it to shore with my body.  I also like to fetch sticks that are completely submerged.  If you have a broadband connection and you'd like to see some movies of me fetching sticks, click on this link: Rita Fetching Sticks

I don't necessarily wait for someone to throw a stick.  I will find my own.  Large sticks are more fun to retrieve.  Fetching a 20 foot stick is a lot of fun, but my wimpy Dad, won't throw them if they are that big.  Notice how my sister Ellie is in awe of my stick fetching brilliance.

I found this log on the bottom of Coker Creek.  It weighs about 30 pounds, but it is little challenge to me.

This is one way I like to relax at home.  I just lay in my Mom's lap and watch the dogs rest.  If you want to see how dogs rest, visit my sister Ellie's page.  She is the queen of resting.

I am also featured on the Extraordinairedales web pages.

I am on the page that says "Airedales are Smart".
