INTRODUCTIONThe Central Florida Community College Criminal Justice Institute is a D.O.E. designated Criminal Justice Center of Emphasis, committed to offering courses that are informative and timely to the criminal justice community. All of our seminars and workshops are presented by certified instructors with extensive educational and/or professional backgrounds.
GENERAL INFORMATION
ADMISSION CRITERIAOccupational Certificate Program in
CORRECTIONS or LAW ENFORCEMENT
via the CFCC Criminal Justice Institute
To apply for admission into the Corrections or Law Enforcement certificate program, each applicant must:
- Be at least 19 years of age prior to completing the program.
- Be a citizen of the United States.
- Be a high school graduate or its equivalent.
- Not have been convicted of any felony or of a misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement.
- Have an honorable discharge from the military (if applicable).
- Be of good moral character.
- Pass a background investigation.
- Pass a physical examination by a licensed physician.
- Be in good academic standing at Central Florida Community College.
In addition, the applicant must submit:

- A copy of scores on the Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE), Form 7 or 8, Level A.
- A completed/signed Central Florida Community College Criminal Justice Institute Applicant Questionnaire.
Admission to the program will be based on the following:
- Oral interview.
- Completed questionnaire.
- Medical examination.
- Background investigation.
The Criminal Justice Institute offers a number of "bridge" courses designed to convert certificate program course work to satisfy requirements in the Associate in Science (A.S.) degree in Criminal Justice Technology with Academy Track (see program outline).
