Mar 6 Saturday departure from Orlando to London.

After checking-in to our hotel, and a short rest, we'll visit the British Museum and its famous Egyptian Galleries. This evening we'll walk down Charing Cross Road to Leicester Square and, if the weather is pleasant, end the day with an evening walk along the Thames.

Mon
Return visit to the British Museum. This morning we'll view the Assyrian Galleries and the Greek Collection (including the Elgin Marbles from the Parthenon). After a pub lunch (at your choice) we'll return to the British Museum to visit Roman Britain and the Medieval World. (Those wishing can attend one of the Museum Lectures or Gallery Talks). Time permitting, we'll go to the new British Library to see some of the world's most beautiful books and important documents, including the Magna Carta.

Tue
Today we'll go to Trafalgar Square and the world famous National Gallery, including its recently opened computer Microgallery in the Sainsbury Wing. Our morning visit will emphasize art from the Renaissance to the Baroque. After lunch in the Museum Cafe, we'll examine masterpieces of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Modern Art today, beginning with a double-decker bus ride to the Tate Gallery to view the best in British and Twentieth- century art. Next we'll walk along the Thames to Parliament Square to view the glories of Westminster Abbey (you are free to try your hand at brass rubbing). Tonight is open for dinner and plans of your choice.

We'll walk this morning through the "City" from the Tower of London to St. Paul's Cathedral. Then we'll stroll through the history of London as displayed chronologically in the exhibit rooms of the nearby Museum of London. Finally we'll visit the modern Barbican Centre to see the results of modern urban planning.

Fri
Free day in London for your individual interests. Visit the small but important collection of impressionistic art at the Courtauld Collection. Or try the V & A (Victoria and Albert Museum) and its collection of "the fine and applied arts of all countries, all styles, all periods." For the best in shopping visit Harrod's in Knightsbridge, or Fortnum and Mason's on Piccadilly, or stroll along Oxford Street. For books, try Hatchard's, or Dillon's, or Foyles. Tonight we'll have a farewell London dinner of traditional English food at Porter's in Covent Garden.

Departure from London to Orlando. The required three-hour early check-in should provide time for a little last-minute shopping at the airport Duty Free Shop.
